My RX350 is still under standard warranty, and I took to the local Sonic Lexus dealer with this intermittent issue... Upon acceleration, in drive or reverse, the car sometimes hesitates and almost stalls. This can be a SAFETY issue as accelerating into traffic flow is a roll of the dice.
My first visit to the dealer resulted in a software update, which they said should fix the problem. It didn't, so I took it back a few weeks later with the same issue. While walking out to the shop area with the service technician, he said, "you brake with your left foot, don't you?" I said hell no, as I learned at a young age to brake with my right foot ONLY. My wife is the same, but she's never driven this car. The technician showed me a diagnostic report showing multiple occasions where the brake was engaged during acceleration, which was absolutely NOT caused by the OPERATOR.
My suspicion goes back to the their first attempt to fix, the software update. I question whether the brake and acceleration conflict may be caused by the software, because it absolutely and certainly is not caused by the operator. So; this case is now being escalated to Lexus corporate, and we'll see what happens.
