RX 300

  • Automatic transmission
  • 101,000 miles

First I had to replace the LEFT bank sensor. Then I replaced the RIGHT bank sensor (each costing $456) and when the check engine light still came on I took it to the Lexus dealership. They told me that because I did not replace the sensors with GENUINE Lexus parts the check engine light will show the oxygen sensor problem even though they've been replaced…….I was a lady….but I wanted to strangle the fellow!

RX 300

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

OK so I had the Left Bank fixed. Paid the $456 and as I'm driving away from the repair shop the check engine light comes on AGAIN. So I turn right around, go back and this time the computer reads that the problem is the RIGHT bank oxygen sensor…….so I drove home swearing.

RX 300 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,385 miles

After only 65K miles, the check engine light is on and the VSC light. Both normally come on at the same time. The dealer wants to run two diagnostics at $100 each. The last time this happened on my 1999 Lexus RX300, the repair bill was $1200 to replace an O2 Sensor. This problem is occurring too often and is outrageously expensive to fix. Mechanics have told me that if it were an American car, the repair cost would be minimal. I should have known better than to purchase another Lexus. Thanks Toyota for the huge money suck!
