In town, see leaking power steering fluid. Replaced the steering rack.

Nice car but not worth repairs costing this much. Steering problems and steering wheel shake at highway speeds make it unreliable. The dealer failed to diagnose this until fluid began leaking out. Not a Lexus fan.

Leaking steering fluid - dealer says cannot change seals - have to replace the entire steering - $1600!!!
NEVER, ever, buy a Lexus!

I have been monitoring this rack and pinion leak for the past 4 years. It started about 75,000 miles. It does not seem to be getting any worse. Must add fluid every 5000 miles. The car has 130,000 miles now but still no leakage spots under car where I park. Dealer wants $1640 to repair.

At first it wasn't noticeable, but seeping became a leak. Took it into the shop and they wanted to charge me for a whole new Rack and Pinion Assembly and a Power Steering Pressure Hose, plus labor costing almost $2.3k total. I've never had a car have this happen and I have driven cars way more than this one. I have seen lots of other complaints here and other sources about this issue and Lexus seems to have gotten away with it.
