RX 350

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

I was driving with 3 little girls to a dance competition when the car died at the side of the highway a hundred miles from home or the nearest Lexus dealer. The only indication that there was an issue was a slight hesitation earlier in the week, then minutes before I pulled over a warning light finally appeared - "transmission fluid hot."

The car had to be flat bedded back to Nally Lexus in Smyrna GA and I had to have someone drive 2 hours out to pick us up.

Nally Lexus and Lexus corporate is refusing to cover the $7000 for a rebuilt transmission on this 4 year old car just because it is 2000 miles over the 6 year/70k mile warranty. (To put that in perspective, that is one month's driving for me.)

I can not wrap my head around the quality of this car - 4 years old and needing a new transmission - and how Lexus will not cover the repairs of an obviously flawed component of a VERY EXPENSIVE CAR! I have driven a lot of crappy cars and have never had such a huge problem. Lexus products do not mean value!
