While driving down the freeway the rear tire started smoking, I pulled over and found a big hole in the sidewall. I did a research online and a lot of people complained about tire failure around 5K miles, witch is exactly what I put on them.

Tires: Pirelli model P6000; a few months ago, one of the tires split on the inside causing a flat. Recently, another tire of the same set did the same thing. The tires have less than 20,000 miles. The retailer is not aware of a recall.
