After an hour at the gas station in the snow, I managed to use a small pair of pliers to grab what was left of the link, drove to Walmart, bought crazy glue, and used the tip end of a Bic pen to fashion a connector link and glued it back together. It worked well but lost the overdrive button connection in the process.
