OK, why is Ford the only company that has a multi-year problem with their springs breaking? My 99 Lincoln Continental had a left spring break and the original equipment was $1600 for labor and parts. So, being the cheapskate I am, I had the mechanic put a used strut on that solved the problem. I guess I could have bought the aftermarket struts but the mech. had a problem with doing that since it didn't have the electronics. So, otherwise it's been a good reliable car for 120000 miles since bought at 42,000 miles 5 years ago.
