I have been experiencing a very bad reaction to exposure of mold in my car. It is a one year old Lincoln Continental. I have had a bad reaction after being in the car for long lengths of time in rainy weather (I am a Realtor) since 5/22/03. In the past, I had some problems within the last year with dry patches of skin, but did not associate it with my car.

My face blew up and turned red late in the day of 5/22/03. It was an allergic reaction. My skin would peel, etc. I finally figured out that it must be the car and could not drive the car (I kept getting a bad reaction). I thought that it may be the air conditioner, exhaust system, etc. The dealership told me yesterday after having it there since last Thursday that the rear window was leaking and they found Mold. There was an odor in the trunk and it got worse when I was not using the car. My next door neighbor opened the trunk and I was about 5 feet away...just the smell caused my face to swell up and turn red...I had dry patches and the skin started to peel. What a mess!!!! My doctor said that I had an allergic reaction and that I must be allergic to mold.

I picked the car up today and I am still experiencing the swelling of the face and sinuses. I quickly went home and had to take allergy medication. The swelling subsided, but I am afraid to use the car. I am a Realtor and it is important that I have a comfortable car and not have this type of reaction on my face...not to mention the long range implications.

Tomorrow I will report this to the Dealership and to my doctor.
