LS 3.9L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,000 miles

As with many 2000 Lincoln LS owners, i've had the same problems, leaky valve covers, Hydraulic fan, coil failure, front end suspension part failure, the random overheating, the heater door failure.....so why would i be amazed that now the timing chain tentioner would hit me as it has the millions of others with this car....AS a lover of lincolns and owner of MANY....WHY HAS LINCOLN NOT BEEN SUED over this, OR WHY hasn't LINCOLN stepped up and made things right ?????

LS 3.8L DcV8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

This was an unexpected situation for this engine to fail, even at 120,000 mi. The car has had good service through the years. I got no warnings for engine failure. It would cost more money to repair than the value of the car. My engine light did not come on nor was there any noise. I took the car to the dealer, a reputable auto service company and they both told me it was the engine, possibly jumped timing and locked up the engine. Both told me it would cost about $5,000 for the engine and $2-3,000 for labor.
