I'm 1 in every 1 person who have this problem with a Lincoln LS8...or so it would seem. I was driving my wife and myself to PetsMart to get some dog food, or so was the plan until....SPUTTER!! You'd swear I just went under the hood with the car running and threw my shoe in there...I managed to drive 20 minute back home without any real incidents other than a check engine light which I'm assuming has something to do with misfiring.

As I open the hood...I contemplate which side of the engine to tear apart in order to see a spark plug since I already checked the air filter and already previously replaced the fuel filter. The passenger side requires less ass pain but requires a "wobbly" socket as I've grown up to know it. So here I am tearing sh*t apart to uncover the covered spark plugs. I unscrew a coil, pull it out and a bunch of oil oozes out. I'm a man of few rags so I had to dig into my collection of paper towels just to clean out ONE spark plug well before I felt somewhat comfortable that I could take the spark plug out and not fill my cylinder with oil.

So after doing that 4 times and not seeing any apparent spark plug issues it dawned on me how dumb I can be. OIL!! Oil does not seem to carry electricity as well as dumping a kidney on a wire fence...so I proceed to my local auto parts stores hunting down a valve cover gasket for this fine fine machine and NOBODY has one!!! I went the the dealership and they wanted $76 per side!!!!! I wouldn't even charge my brother's wife that much for a valve cover gasket!! Anyway...I go on the computer with my lack of internet navigational skills and come up with nothing but parts.com who refuse to answer me why their gasket has no part number...oh yeah..forgot to mention...the dealership refused to give me a part number as well.

I don't even know why I'm still writing. The dilemma was cured by someone on Lincolnforum.com I believe is the web site, where I was pointed out a gasket, but haven't bought yet, for around $30 something dollars. Dealerships are hell spawned creations here to place hatred and anguish in souls already tormented by operating machinery that operates like a surgeon on acid. Now I have to figure out how and why I'm the one changing the gaskets...oh that's right....all the fuel ups from the required 93 octane during a economical crisis caused me the lack of ability to fork over enough money to pay a more experienced better equipped monkey to do the job!!!...Now I'm off to explain the other problems this vehicle has.
