coolant intrusion cylinder 2

I started having check engine light in May 2025 with approx 55500 miles. Mechanic advised it was cylinder 2 misfire and all spark plugs and ignition coils needed replaced which was done May 12. June 23 same issue cylinder 2 misfire took to car max where purchased and said it needed spark plugs and ignition coils again. Parts ordered and were put on July 9 on July 10 check engine light on again with cylinder 2 misfire took to Car Max on July 11 and they did more diagnostics with camera and found rust inside engine due to coolant intrusion at cylinder 2. This is totally unacceptable with only 56,800 miles

Update from Jul 14, 2025 Car Max advised new engine but they are unable to perform so sent me to another shop that is in their network. that shop advised I would need to pay another $300 diagnostic fee and upwards of $1200 tear down fee to determine if warranty will cover engine. I spoke to the warranty company and they advised they will more than likely not cover since their is rust in the cylinder.

Update from Jul 16, 2025: Shop advised the head gasket failed which is what caused this problem and its a manufacturer defect. Stated there was a lot of rust in cylinder and had been leaking for a while before it started with check engine light
