The electrical power assisted steering failed again without warning. When this unit ceases operation, it also affects the vehicle power train by shutting down the traction control and the anti lock braking, it seems. When the electrical assist stop working, the vehicle is extremely difficult to control as it takes all the effort a person can muster to turn the steering wheel. This is a very bad steering system.

While driving I experienced aloud violet knock and hesitation, stall, when driving the vehicle. This occurs without warning. It feels like a sudden lost of power which last for 5-7 seconds. This knock and hesitation occurs intermittently, it's scary to drive the car like this, I fear the vehicle may completely stall in traffic and cause an accident. Note I've taken the vehicle back to the dealership however, they claim upon their diagnosis they can't find the problem.the vehicle is still under warranty.

Car was stalled and could not be restarted so I tried shifting to neutral to push it out of the way but this car will not shift to any gear if it is not running, even when the towtruck came the driver looked for a release mechanism but this car had none, if there is one it could not be found so he dragged the car onto the flatbed towtruck. I understand that Lincoln corrected this in the newer models but I think they should be required to create an override mechanism for my model year because it is a safety hazard. All cars should be able to shift to neutral whether running or not.
