Originally transmission slipped - loud bang (thought I was hit from behind) than no problem for weeks. 2 nights ago, stopped at a light. When it turned green, stepped on gas.....nothing....rpm went up - engine raced....vehicle didnt move. I have a great warranty - BUT - if they don't find a problem - I have to pay them $100.00 each time I bring it in. Last 2 times they couldnt find anything...hate to spend another hundred for them to tell me its nothing.... Not really sure what my options are....
Update from Feb 1, 2017: Transmission continued to slip and bang....A call to owner of dealership got some action.....They kept the MKX for 4 weeks (gave me a loaner)...the head mechanic took it home every dayy. A bad sensor was found to be the culprit - by the time they found it, the entire transmission was scorched. The mechanic called us in to see it spread all over a table and said see all those black pieces? They should all be silver. Apparently the sensor was ifaulty - but didnt throw a code. Fortunately I bought an extended warranty. When the owner of dealership was told I paid $100 each time i brought it in and they couldn't find it? He refunded my money

When approaching a traffic light that you have slowed down to stop for and the light turns green the transmission slips when you accelerate.

Have had this piece of junk for 4 months and half that time has been spent in the dealers shop. Transmission slips on upshift between 2-3 and 3-4. The last time it was in the shop for 42 days (6 full weeks) and it's still the same as when I brought it in. Some of the key fob functions still dont work either and that's after it was in for that 3 times. Don't even consider buying one of these pigs. Not only are they trash, but the treatment by the dealer's service department is deplorable.

Purchased this MKX two months ago with no warranty. Two weeks after I had it, I kept noticing black oil substance on my garage floor. Took it to a Lincoln/Ford repair center and was told the PTU was bad and needed replacement at the cost of $2000. Now a month later, going to work from a stop light up to 40 MPH shifting into 5th gear, the transmission jerks so bad felt like I was on a roller coaster. Now the transmission shifts like it is going to slip again at 40 MPH going into 5th gear. What beautiful expensive peace of junk. Original Window sticker in the glove box when I tried the car out said it list out at $46,000. Are you kidding me? That much money and has these kinds of problems regardless of the miles and the year!!!
