The brake pedal is very difficult to depress. You have to push very hard for the car to come to a stop. The brakes do not work correctly causing not stopping when pressed. Safety issue for myself and others on the road. My car now has 122,890 miles on it. There was a recall that expired 2015. Never repaired under the recall, before I took ownership.

I was driving my 2010 Lincoln MKX in heavy traffic when the signal light turned red. When I pushed the brake to stop it was very stiff and I almost hit another vehicle. I could have been seriously injured if I had it another car because there is another safety recall on this vehicle relating to the driver airbag spewing shrapnel in a front end collision. I have had the recall notice regarding the air bag for almost a year already. Ford motor company deemed my vehicle safe to drive with this airbag issue. As it turns out, the brake booster bladder has a tear in it. I purchased the vehicle in 2020 and never was never sent a recall notice on the brake booster even though Ford Motor Company knew about it. According to what I have read online, Ford Motor decided that the recall was only good for a specific amount of time. How can that possibly be the case. This is a safety issue that should be covered for the life of the vehicle. Someone needs to do something about this before someone is seriously injured or killed.

The brakes are spongy when pressure is applied. A recall is in place for vehicles produced in the same plant as our vehicle. The recall begins with may production in 2010, our car came from that plant in April 2010. Please extent recall to cover our vehicle for the identical problem, from the identical plant. An auto repair shop found the problem. We have owned vehicle less than 2 years and it is driven less than 2000 miles per year.

Starting in early fall 2019, multiple problems with breaks, replaced all pads & rotors now X 2. break peddle has intermittent spongy feel- isn't consistent pressure, sometimes is super hard to press down, other times press it for a long time and the vehicle isn't stopping. Peddle makes a hiss noise and sometimes strange clicks with very inconsistent pressure. Re- replaced all break pads again 2/24/20, our mechanic notified us its the break booster part failure. This is known year and part failure for our Mkx. I've called Lincoln. They refuse to offer us the extended warranty repair upfront, even though we've paid for breaks X2 in less than 6 months. This irregular brake peddle problem occurs on all roads freeway/ side streets. Our vehicle has 100K miles on it, well under their 150K mile warranty for this part and is 10 years. Lincoln we'd have to submit the receipt and maybe then our VIN will be included in the recall warranty afterward. I feel the safety of myself and our family is extremely jeopardized and Lincoln is trying to avoid responsibility to fix this known part failure at any length. (called micheal at Lincoln care on 2/27/20 case #cas25802085-V3K5D6) we also had purchased an extended warranty on this car for 36 months (but have just 4K miles over the miles limit), only month 28. We feel Lincoln is intentionally being dishonest towards their quality and safety of their product Mkx. I'm worried that there will be an accident. I'm not even asking to compensated for 2 sets of brakes in a few months, I am asking for the known failed brake booster part to be replaced through the Lincoln warranty (sb-10054925) for Lincoln to stand behind their car for the safety of my family and others on the roadway.

Ford Motor Company is recalling 600,000 vehicles for a faulty valve in the hydraulic braking system. The recall doesn't currently include the 2010 Mkx which I own. I have had an intermittent braking problem the last three months in which I took it in and was given new brakes and rotors but hasn't fixed the problem of the brake petal intermittently becoming harder while braking requiring a longer distance to brake. I want to know if other Mkx owners have had a similar experience" when I heard about the 19S54 recall I know that my vehicle is having the same problem. What can I do to be included in the recall" calling them is an automated nightmare in which you enter your vehicle number and are told it doesn't include your vehicle. It took two years to be included on the airbag recall. Thank you

My brakes started making a hissing noise when the brakes were applied. The hissing sound became louder and I noticed the brakes were very hard to press and the even when pressing to the floor the car was very hard to come to a complete stop. I took the car to the shop and replaced the front brake pads. The hissing sound was still there along with a whistle sound. I was told the brake booster was bad. My car only has 138,000 miles on it. I was told to call to see if there were recalls. There is a recall on 2010 Lincoln Mkx however I was told that my car did not qualify although Lincoln is very familiar with this problem. Recall number for this problem which does not include my vehicle is 13N02

My brake booster went out. I did find that there was a extended warranty for some but my VIN number did "not" qualify. Sounds like a lie to me. This is a life threatening. I am not the only one with this problem as others have been given the extended warranty coverage. The fact that this is was done on some but not all, does not make safety sense to me. My car was assembled at the designated site that had the problem. I am having my car repaired at a "non-Ford" mechanic, since the last time I went to a Ford dealer, the dealer tried "theft by deception" on me.

Still waiting for air bags and noe my brake booster went out within a week. I did find that there was a extended warranty for some but my VIN number did not qualify. This to me is a life threatening. I've replaced my rotors and pads but in all 45 years driving, never brake booster. I'm sure I am not the only one with this problem as others have been given the extended warranty coverage. The fact that this is was done on some but not all, does not make safety sense to me. I almost hit someone but thank god I had been driving a safe distance back. As I stated, usually someone has had to die before a recall is in place. I don't want that person to me me.

Brake booster failure. Loss of break assistance while attempting to slow down. Accompanied by hissing sound. Symptoms identical to Ford customer satisfaction program #13N02. Symptom occurred while braking on a highway

I was driving on the highway to school with my children in the vehicle, as traffic began to slow I went to depress the brake pedal and the vehicle would simply not slow. The pedal literally was down to the floor. I luckily had provided myself with enough distance to have time to slow down and avoid an accident. I will not jeopardize the safety of my children, myself or other drivers on the road. I am forced to resolve this issue either way but it is very obvious that Lincoln has a problem that has carried over to the manufactured date of my vehicle. This is a disaster just waiting to happen.

My gas mileage is very poor now> to have this fixed there gas been a safety recall for over 1 year maybe 2 years now. I have been on a toi call list agt local dealer to get it fixed. When is this going to happen., you guys owe me tons of wasted gas.

The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln Mkx. While driving at various speeds, the brake pedal became difficult to depress. The contact also stated that there was an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

Upon morning start up, there is a high pitch whistling sound which lasts apx the first 15 minutes of driving time.it can be heard inside & outside the car & with the radio on or off.I have complained since about Feb 2014 about this sound while the car was still under its bumper to bumper warranty.I requested each time that the dealership have a female listen for the noise and they did not do that.it is a known fact than men lose their hearing in the high frequencies the dealership performing my initial maintenance did not note this issue on the repair order, although I reported it to them several times.the second dealership had a female employee listen for it; she was able to hear and point out the sound to the service advisor who then did hear the sound.they are not certain, but believe that the sound is coming from the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. Since this is not looked upon as a failure, only a nuisance, I am told it is not covered by my extended warranty and frankly, I feel it should have been resolved under my bumper to bumper warranty! I found this exact complaint in two you tube video re: 2008 Ford edge https://www.youtube.com/watch"V=roco7_tgjhg and https://www.youtube.com/watch"V=hqcunsy1enc.according the to person who posted these 2 videos, his dealership could not identify/fix the problem, so he sold his 2008 Ford edge. In my opinion, this is not a "normal" or acceptable sound to listen to each morning at start up. I feel this sound is actually damaging my hearing since I am exposed to it for so long each day. Continual sounds like this are not healthy for the ears! since it is against the law, I cannot drive with earplugs to minimize the damage to my hearing. This is the 3rd issue I am reporting regarding this vehicle. The other two regard the emergency brake and the driver's seat intermittently rocking while driving.

Car was put into park (on a slight slope), then parking/emergency brake was applied. Brake did not hold and rolled 10 - 12 inches into another parked car. What good is an emergency/parking brake if it takes that long to engage? luckily I pressed the regular brake and backed the car up further before putting again into park and applying the parking/emergency brake. This is the second time this has happened. In both cases, the Lincoln pushed into the other car's bumpers allowing me to see the other car move based upon the pressure exerted by the Lincoln. Fortunately, none of the bumper's were damaged. I will also be reporting another 2 problems with this vehicle.
