The car speed decelerating. I was driving on Freeway going 75 miles yellow wrench came on car decelerated to 45 miles an 18 wheeler was behind me and couldn-??t stop almost hit me thankful the opposite lane was free and he was able to change lanes in time. Once lane decelerates it shut completely down. This could have cost me my life. The vehicle is in the shop took it before and because the light don-??t stay on they can-??t read it. I seen where there was a recall on the body throttle in 2017 I didn-??t own the vehicle then. The light only appeared right before it decelerates this is the second time in 6 months the light never stays on. After the incident on Sat April 23; the light went off n the car drove smoothly but I cannot have this happening unexpectedly because this is too dangerous

Problems with the electronic throttle body (etb). When driving, there is an extreme, sudden and dangerous loss of power. At the same time, Ford's infamous "wrench warning light' for this problem comes on and the car enters into the 'limp home mode'. this is the same problem that Ford / Lincoln is having in which the NHTSA had opened an investigation in Feb. 2013 after thousands of Ford / Lincoln owners complained of the same issue I am currently having, then closed it after Ford agreed to 'fix 1,600,000 cars that "limped home"'. my research shows that Ford claims that customer satisfaction program 16B23 has been issued. However, when I contacted Lincoln hq, they stated that since NHTSA has closed this investigation, they are not willing to include my VIN with this reported problem. This problem is getting worse as well. It has happened 5 times now and every time, I have to pull off to the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. I called the Lincoln dealership where the vehicle was purchased and the service manager was well aware of the problem and stated that he fixes these 'all the time' at $160 for the part, and $400 for the labor. Please reopen the NHTSA investigation / case to include my VIN in this 'recall' or whatever Ford wants to call it.

Unintended accelerator first happened approximately 18 months ago. I took my vehicle to a Ford dealer to have a brake recall done and told them that I went to stop at a red light and something made the accelerator stick forcing me to jump a curb and run at a high speed through an empty lot in front of our library and then back over another curb and out onto another road. I put both feet on the brake and kept pushing; it finally stopped. The service department told me they did a diagnostic test on the car and they could not find nothing wrong with it. On July 18, 2016 I was pulling into a parking spot and as I took my foot off the accelerator to brake again my vehicle accelerated by itself forcing the car to jump the curb and plow into a 4-foot hedge. The car stopped on top of the hedges. I am attaching a picture. Had the car not been stopped by the hedge ' there was an eight lane road in front of my car and I dare not think about what would have happened had the car gone straight into traffic. I do not know what component or system created this unsafe risk.

Tried to tap the brakes to take the cruise control off and it wouldn't disengage. Tapped harder and then stomped on the brake to release it and stop from hitting the car in front of me. After that, it was very hard to make the brakes work. Took it a Ford dealer while it was still under warranty and they claimed they couldn't duplicate it. Finally took it to a Lincoln dealer after the 50K mile warranty expired and they made me pay for a new brake booster. Now the car won't start everytime because it says the brake isn't depressed, but of course, it was!

The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that while stopped, the vehicle momentarily surged forward before stopping on its own. Approximately ten days later, the driver was attempting to park and the vehicle surged forward until it crashed into a bus shelter. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was also made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
