After hitting a pothole, the brakes get spongy. Have to push and pump brakes to stop.
The dealer cannot find a solution.

Wife's car is 2012 Lincoln MKX. She complained that brake pedal is all of a sudden "spongy" and pedal went almost to floor. I took to mechanic. After doing several brake type diagnostics, and calling a local Ford Dealer Service Dept., it was determined that the hydraulic part of the ABS module has gone bad. The problem is so common now that Ford can't supply the parts for the demand. It may be "months" per a Ford technician before parts become available and the car CAN NO LONGER BE DRIVEN.

Had brakes go to floor..had fixed at dealership. In September brakes to floor, very spongie. We were on highway. Had to stop at hotel. The BRAKES ARE TERRIBLE. We have reported to delership..Terrible service. We are going to get killed. Oh if you skid in gravel brakes come back..

After hitting a pothole, the brakes get spongy. It took over 100 miles for them to stiffen up. I have to push and pump brakes to stop. Ford and Lincoln dealers can not duplicate issue - and therefore it is not an issue in their eyes.
