I will need to replace water pump with is part of the engine. Costly and no guarantee as the replacement is still parts that have a history of failing and have not been modified or corrected. Who wants to "fix" their engine temporarily for a high price and then not know how long it will work. I bought American made Ford/Lincoln. This vehicle should not fail and require coolant to be added to prevent overheating multiple times and replace the engine. At that price for repairs you are putting too much money in a vehicle that is not worth it. Truly a bad investment and disgusting. No one can believe I am going to have to purchase another vehicle or dump excessive money in to a true money pit.
Ford refuses to cover the water pump and this will make me never, ever purchase a Ford/Lincoln again! Ford, get your act together. Stand behind your product like others do for up to 100,000 miles. The water pump is difficult to get to, costly to replace and not covered by Ford. I suspect because it is expensive and they know it is an issue. The car does not run without it so it should be considered part of the power train.
So disappointed. I purchased as a single parent wanting a dependable vehicle that looks nice. Now it can "look nice" sitting in my driveway like junk. I am out of pocket paying my car payment and now need a car that actually drives! Two car payments leaving me driving the ugly and not as nice vehicle but it serves it's purpose - transportation. My Lincoln MXK is now a giant paperweight in my driveway. Useless! Do I take it to the junkyard for parts? What do I do with a car like this?
