First I think it is significant to mention it is a 2012 MKX but was manufactured in Oakville Canada plant on 9/28/11. Around 42,000 miles I would be driving down highway 60 mph and it would sputter and not pick back up. Sometimes the steering and brake locks up sometimes it doesn't.
I have contacted Alan Jay Lincoln in Sebring Florida where they will not even discuss any type possibility of a recall on this vehicle but I see there are others experiencing the same type of problem and one person with the same mileage. Today it did this four times and I had to put in Park restart it would go in drive and in 2 seconds would do it again. Dealership would not pick it up so I had it towed to them today which is Saturday. I asked if they had a rental car as this was my only vehicle they said they don't do that and all the rental agencies would be closed. I had taken this vehicle to Alan Jay Lincoln a couple of weeks before telling service dept of dangerous situation and they said they were
to busy to look at it. They will look at on Monday.
While investigating myself, I found it could be half shaft retention clip moving outward causing disengaging and no longer sending power to wheels. OR it could be an electrical system failure Ford admitted to March 2011.OR it could be the throttle body sensor fail. But from looking at others they had half shaft and throttle replaced and stall still occurred. This is DANGEROUS I was almost killed on Highway by speeding Semi and at last second he changed lanes. I am reporting this mainly for any surviving relatives I have should I be killed while driving. I am documenting for future litigation.
