My husband and I were almost killed in the fast lane on the interstate when our 2016 Lincoln Mkx shut down completely, we had to cross three lanes of traffic when it started again only to shut down again, we were terrified, it was towed to the dealership where a recall was just issued on it called "throttle body repair" I asked the service manager to replace this defective part, not repair it and he did so. Our service manager was proactive in this and I pray to god we never experience this type of situation again. !

On 3 separate occasions (most recent on 9/16/16) power to vehicle simply cuts out - on two occasions it has occurred at high speeds on busy interstate with heavy traffic. Extreme danger, as unable to timely pull to side of the road causing traffic jams and potential accidents/rear-ends. Selling dealer has been unable to resolve or fix problem.

The vehicle when accelerating lets exhaust and carbon monoxide into car interior. Took the SUV to dealer and has been worked on several times with no fix. Ford Motor Company field engineer was unable to fine and recommend a repair. Asked Ford to repurchase vehicle but they refused saying its norm for the SUV. They did not give any regulations or anything that would support this as we should not have to breathe gas fumes when traveling down a highway. We were told not to use interior circulation and it would help, not to use air the vehicle when accelerating lets exhaust and carbon monoxide into car interior. Took the SUV to dealer and has been worked on several times with no fix. Ford Motor Company field engineer was unable to fine and recommend a repair. Asked Ford to repurchase vehicle but they refused saying its norm for the SUV. They did not give any regulations or anything that would support this other than them just making a statement hoping we go away, we should not have to breathe gas fumes when traveling down a highway. We were told not to use interior circulation and it would help, not to use air conditioner on max. The cabin on car fills with the gas fumes and makes us tired and fatigue when driving for extended period of time. We purchase a luxury SUV as Ford would have you to believe but it actually more like a gas chamber having to breath this seems a little too much. I hope the NHTSA can get Ford to acknowledge they have a problem and make them take it seriously and get rid of what is causing the problem.

Sudden lack of throttle control. Three times during our trip the past two weeks from Florida to Maryland and back, going 75 mph on interstate 95, the engine suddenly dropped to 1000 RPM and all throttle control was lost. My wife nearly had an accident trying quickly to get to the shoulder. I was nearly re-ended by an escalade as my vehicle so quickly decelerated. Two times a wrench appeared and a driver airbag warning. The third time we got the service engine soon light. Each time I was able to shut down the car and restart it, but I decided to interrupt our trip and seek help at the nearest Lincoln dealer. This was on Monday, July 25. The dealer was lafayette in fayetteville, nc, a Lincoln/Ford dealership. [xxx], the service advisor, and [xxx] (last name ?), the service manager I believe, immediately came to our aid. [xxx] diagnosed the problem with a diagnostic tool, while [xxx] worked us into their busy schedule. The failure was the throttle body which [xxx] said is an all too common recent problem on our V-6 engine used in Ford and Lincoln. Their service and professionalism was extremely appreciated and they had us back on the road in a little over two hours. I sent them a thank you in their survey request. We met another couple at the dealership that suffered the same problem, only they were not able to restart it and had to be towed off I 95 to the dealership. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

2016 Lincoln Mkx has stalled numerous times. We left home and had driven about a mile in our subdivision when I slowed for and stopped at stop sign. The engine shuddered and shook, engine revolutions slowed down. Sped up, slowed down and engine quit. The message, "full accessory power active' displayed on the dash and my wife got a pad and pencil and copied it down for me. This was the second time that has happened and evidently was the same message displayed when the engine quit while we were on vacation in new orleans. Checked the internet and found several instances to this happening due to a computer glitch. Ford has known about this problem for some time. Do we have to get killed before Ford corrects their faulty computers? to make matters worse, I had scheduled and appointment with my dealer, drove 31 miles, only to find out the service department had no knowledge of my appointment. Spoke with the service manager on 21 July and he told me he would send me an email by the end of the week. Well the end of the week is here and I've not heard anything yet. It is my understanding that the Mkx is a glorified Ford edge and that the stalling problems were on-going for several years.

Vehicle randomly loses throttle power when driving slowly or at highway speeds
- Leland, NC, USA
My vehicle has been losing power while I'm driving, leading to some very close calls on serious accidents. The "check engine" light will come on, and sometimes the "hill assist" message will also appear. Once power is lost, the vehicle loses power steering and literally shuts down; the accelerator does not work. I have to basically limp to safety. I took the vehicle into the dealership, and they found nothing, sending me away only for it to happen again. All 5 times this has happened, the vehicle was in motion on a city street, as I have avoided highways since the first time it happened. I've done extensive online research, and have found hundreds of others who have experienced the same issue.

The car has stalled 6 or 7 times when attempting to park. The dealership seems to have fixed that problem. A more serious problem occurred on June 7 while we were on vacation in new orleans la. Driving down a busy street, I slowed for traffic and the engine quit. I was able to move to the right and avoid an accident. Restarted car and continued driving. As you may expect, my wife is very concerned that this may happen again and she or I will not have time to get out of the way of approaching traffic. My daughter did some research and found this site that lists many similar complaints with other Ford> suggest you check out the website.this should open up to that question about Ford cars stalling https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-T35446_ds471580 have stalling and similar problems been reported for these cars? I have an appointment at the dealership on 27 June to have them check the problem. This will be the third time the dealership has attempted to solve these stalling problems. If they cannot correct the problem on this attempt I will have to seek relief through the Florida lemon law.

I was driving on city street when all of sudden I had no gas power the engine started reeving up on high. I was able to pull over to the side of the street. I continue to turn off the vehicle and restart it after a few attempts I was able to drive for a short distance it happen again I needed a tow to the dealer the problem was identify as the body throttle this item is causing not only my vehicle but other customers vehicle problems. I feel you should know about this issue because I could've been on the highway when this happen to me and more serious I could've been rear ended. Today is May 9th I haven't received my vehicle yet it's still at the dealer. The service dept. Chuck at dana stated that it might be another week before I get my car back. He stated there are a lot of order for the part.
