Faulty throttle body. This is abnormal for a new car.

My 2016 MKX lost total acceleration on the highway in rush hour. Vehicle has only 10,400 miles. I managed to limp to side of the road, vehicle would not accelerate more than 10mph. Warning light and wrench symbol lit up on dashboard. I turned vehicle off for about 20 minutes, when I turned back on warning light off and vehicle started and drove as normal. Drove to dealership, they replaced throttle body intake.

Disappointed to learn that this is a known defect in my vehicle yet I was left to drive around with it. The vehicle is less than 6 months old. We were lucky not to have been injured when this part failed.

Electronic Throttle body failed and had to be replaced. I could barely drive - at about 10MPH, 1 mile from home. The dealer replaced promptly.
