I thought my 2016 MKX was fixed from when it lost all power 2 weeks after I acquired it. Yesterday as I was merging on to the interstate in rush hour traffic, the vehicle lost all acceleration and put itself in neutral. I was very lucky to be in the right hand land and moved next to a guardrail. Engine started to rev up while in drive with my foot on the brake only. I turned everything off and restarted vehicle and tried to again merge on interstate. It shifted back to neutral again and I veered over to shoulder and avoided another crash. Engine light and warning about "starting on incline" came on but I wasn't on an incline. I wasn't taking any more chances with my life. Called Lincoln Service and after waiting another hour, towed to the dealership where I acquired the vehicle. The service manager stated he knew what the problem was and blamed it on parts of the accelerator NOT made by Lincoln. He even referred to the case on the news a few years ago where they thought the floormats caused a vehicle to accelerate. I have no idea what that had to do with me. They replaced a part in less than an hour. They stated they would call me later and mail me the invoice of the problems. At that point I was 3 hours out of work and wanted to get out of that dealership as soon as possible. Now awaiting a call that I am sure I will not get.
