Really disappointed that a luxury car like this Lincoln has this happen. It is unsafe, as this is sharp!

Since 2011, I have had to put air in 2-4 tires every few weeks. I have had the tires checked and there was never any reason given to me, even though the tires were only a year old. Recently, the serviceman told me that it is due to the peeling chrome that rubs on the tires,. It is also unsightly. I cannot believe that there hasn't been a recall for this problem. I may try to buy new rims but I know they are expensive and I am now on a fixed income. This has been very frustrating and I will never buy another Lincoln.

The chrome wheels were peeling and causing my tires to lose air. I needed to keep stopping to refill the air in my tires. The original wheels cost $650 each, too much! So I opted for a lower cost wheel, which I really do not like.

For a nice car and an expensive car like this, this shouldn't happen. I think they should have a recall on these. not safe, I even cut my self trying to air up my tires. I have to air up my tires every week or two because of this

The chrome on the wheels of my 2008 Lincoln MKZ is peeling off and causing the tires to leak slowly and at ALL FOUR wheels. For a luxury car, and for an American auto maker of over 100 years, you think they would know how to make a quality product. Guess they haven't learned yet. Have cleaned the inside of the rims at the bead surface with no results. The plating has sharp edges and causes small cut to the hands when rotating these HORRIBLE looking wheels.
I have owned many, Ford cars, and trucks, as well as been a Mechanic for 45 years. I am very disappointed with Ford and Lincoln for not addressing this problem. It shows that they do not care about their reputation, as an Auto Maker. Will NOT buy another Ford product again.

What the hell? Beautiful expensive car and chrome peeling off all 4 wheels. Now UGLY. Bought ding protection too so cant wait till I hear what Chapman Ford in Egg Harbor New Jersey uses as an excuse for this. I will rant about this right in their lobby.

This car is the sole reason why I will NEVER by another Ford product ever in life!!!!!!!!!! I dealt with the fact that my wheels started to look pretty awful. They were downright embarrassing but I didn't have the money to replace and it was a cosmetic issue (or so I thought). At the same time I was experiencing that one of my tires just would not hold air. Going to the gas station to refill this tire was becoming a 3-4 time per week thing. So, I replaced the tire. Only to have it continue to happen.
Additionally, the same thing started happening to the other three tires. I eventually replaced the other 3 tires. I had no idea that I never stood a chance. I eventually found out through the help of a mechanic that the rust/corrosion of the wheels was causing the damage to the tire. He said the only way to fix the problem would be to get all new wheels and tires. He said that he had seen this before on the cars of owners of Lincolns & Fords made prior to about 2010. I was thoroughly disgusted. Between tires purchased prior to me knowing the issue and the current 4 tire 4 wheel replacement, not to mention the money I've put into the air pump, lost productivity, calls to AAA, etc. I have easily spent close to $5K and that's being conservative. My latest bill was $1,694.45.
From what I've seen on this site, I am not the only one who has been experiencing this. Ford needs to stand behind it's product and do something about this!! Simply outrageous!

just came back from dealer telling them about chrome peeling off, told me the same thing and charged me diagnostic fee. said i could get new wheels for $595.00 a piece. travel 60 miles a day 3 days a week to work. low pressure light comes on. i don`t know if i have a flat or not. have had wheels ground down and resealed about 15 times in the last year. i really think it should be a safety issue.

Replaced Tires thinking this was the problem. The air leaks down in every wheel. Sometimes I drive for miles trying to find air. Started over inflating hoping to extend time before having to air up the tires. This may have caused another problem. After airing up close to an on ramp I hit a pothole and burst a tire. I had to be towed costing 150 dollars and purchase a new tire. Called Lincoln, I was told to take it to a dealer for them to examine. I done that and the dealer saw ll the rubber sealant on the wheels and did not break the tire down. He said he may never get it to seal again. This wheel has gone flat in the past. He said there is nothing he can do sinces Lincoln does not have a recall on the problem. This is my first Lincoln and will be the last.

THE CHROME RIMS ARE JUNK ON THESE CARS AND LINCOLN WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CARS AND FIX THE PROBLEM !!!
I EVEN TALKED TO LINCOLN AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO HAVE IT CHECKED AT A DEALERSHIP AND PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC TIME. DIAGNOSTIC TIME ??? TO LOOK AT RIMS ARE THEY STUPID OR WHAT.. WHAT A FREAKIN JOKE ... I HAD TO HAVE MY TIRES RESEALED 2 TIMES ( ALL 4 )
THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A MECHANICAL ISSUE IT WAS COSMETIC... SO YOU BUY A LINCOLN ( BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SO NICE ) AND THEN YOUR RIMS LOOK LIKE SH*T A FEW YEARS LATER,,, WHAT A JOKE I WIL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LINCOLN OR FORD AGAIN
I ALSO BOUGHT THE PREMIUM EXTENDED WARRANTY ALSO BUT THAT DOESN'T COVER THE RIMS, WHICH I WAS TOLD THAT WARRANTY COVERED EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK ( YEAH RIGHT )

I thought when you bought a lincoln you bought quality. Aparently i was wrong. The chrome is lifting from all of the wheels. I have to replace the wheels to correct this problem. If Ford does not replace the wheels this is the last one i will buy. I have bought over 30 new fords and lincolns and never had this problem.

Rims flake causing the tires to lose air. I have to put air in every 2weeks, if not sooner. I can't go out of town worrying about my tires flooding air. I have taken to Lincoln dealer, no help. They don't back up their product. Will never buy another Lincoln or Ford.
