Takata recall, I brought this car from a dealership in blacksburg Feb 15, 2017. This recall should have been fixed before the car was sold to me. It is now Feb 18, 2018 and no sign of the parts are available to fix my car. We have several trips planned and no vehicle to drive. We are retired and go alot. We do not want one of us sitting in the backseat for trips. Noone has offer us a vehicle to use in the mean time. We don't have any idea when the part will be available. If you cannot get the part within 2 months, people should be able to have the vehicle replaced. When you call the phone number you get a recording about the recall, no parts available anytime soon. What are we suppose to do. My email address is [xxx] I called the dealership they do not have any idea when the part will be available. But the Honda dealership I understand are fixed fairly quickly, what is up with this?? information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

"takata recall" - safety recall notice 16S26/NHTSA recall 16V-384 first notice letter dated July, 2016 - second notice letter dated December, 2017 how long before this hazard airbag is replaced" waiting over a year for a replacement of this dangerous airbag is unacceptable. The potential of risk of death/injury is unacceptable. I called Ford and was told by the customer service rep. That she "feels its safe", however, her "feeling" its safe for my family to ride in this car with this airbag under recall is not good enough for the safety and well-being of myself and my loved ones. She did not "guarantee" it was safe. Having a potentially dangerous airbag in my vehicle and what could happen should it deploy is causing me a great deal of stress every time I drive this vehicle and/or have my beloved family ride in this vehicle. And, I am growing weary and agitated with the excessively long wait for a replacement airbag. What action is being done to expedite the replacement airbags in affected vehicles? how much longer must one wait for this to be resolved" please let me know something regarding a timeline for resolution/replacement. I want this airbag replaced asap. Thanks

The contact was informed months ago that he needed to wait to receive a second letter. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The second notice would be received in the spring of 2018 when parts become available. The manufacturer was contacted to determine when the part would be supplied to the dealer. Takata recall. I have not received any information on when I can expect to have this recall remedied. I've contacted several dealerships in the elkhart, Indiana area and they keep telling me that parts are not available. They also stated that I will receive a letter stating when to bring my vehicle into a dealership for repairs. I'm not sure when the airbag recall first began so, I entered today's date.
