The pulling to the left of the MKZ steering, is so bad that I can't drive on the highway because I have to keep a tight grip on the steering wheel to keep it from drifting to the left. It's gotten so bad that I have developed pain in my wrist and shoulder on long trips.
I reported the problem to FORD customer service and they replied by saying, "After review of your case the concern with the vehicle pulling to the left has been diagnosed as a normal characteristic of this vehicle." I think this is ridiculous, because a car should drive straight, when the steering is set straight. If it pulls in a certain direction that is not only dangerous it can cause physical problems for the driver. FORD's unwillingness to help with this situation is even more aggravating. They have completely disrespected the customer/consumer by writing it off as a normal characteristic. I even went to two different FORD dealerships and two different Lincoln dealerships in Columbus, OH and had a technician in each location test drive my car. They all agreed that the steering was off, but they too, said that they could not fix the problem.
In result, I don't drive the MKZ for long periods time, and I fear my wife or daughters driving this car.
This is a major problem in manufacturing and customer service. FORD should take responsibility for their shoddy workmanship by either fixing the problem, offering some sort of exchange or buyback alternative without penalty. The fact that pulling to the left is considered normal for the MKZ should have been information that was given to potential buyers-if I had known about this problem I would not have bought this car.
