Car is a 2012 MKZ with 42, 543 miles. Bought with 19,200 miles and factory warranty left. Wife drives car to and from work. She noticed a clicking sound and mentioned it to me when we were going out of town. Didn't hear it on that trip.

Two weeks later we were going to dinner with neighbors and as we pulled out the driveway, I heard the clicking sound. It would appear for a bit then quit. The car was due for a 40,000 mile oil change and service inspection. Took the car in 6/13/15 for service and mentioned it to the service writer that I could not get the sound to happen. But it is either control arm or a torque arm bushing going bad. He already knew the issue. Said it probably is the control arm and would take a look and if need correcting, they would take care of it. He came in later and informed me the lower control bushing and an axle needed to be changed.

After the car was ready I asked if this will be an issue again in 42K miles. He shrugged and said 50/50 chance. He mentioned Lincoln has an issue with the series (year production model 2010-2012) of putting softer bushing to lesson the noise thru the frame and body. I asked how much it out of warranty. He asked if I had extended warranty, I said not yet. He then informed me that replacement out of warranty would run past $2000.
