The contact owned a 2013 Lincoln Mkz. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle was involved in a minor front end crash. While the contact was exchanging information with the occupant of the other vehicle, the contact's vehicle unintentionally accelerated into a stone wall. A police report was not filed. The seat belt pretensioner did not restrain the occupant. The air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was towed to a collision center where it was deemed destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There were two injuries that required medical attention. The vehicle was involved in NHTSA campaign number: 16V875000 (seat belts); however, they did not receive notification of the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

When driving the car it will shift from drive to S1, S2, S3, S4, it will decrease in speed, like a hesitation and slowing down. I am afraid if this constantly happens some one will hit me in the rear., causing a serious accident. We have taken this car in twice for repairs, still isn't fixed. First, oh its need to be put on the computer and recalibrated. Second, after test driving the dealership service department couldn't assess the cause and it didn't occur while they did a test drive. This is a serious defect and danger to me, my family and others on the highway. It needs to be investigated and repaired.this is still occurring while driving daily. Seriously thinking about returning this vehicle.
