I purchased a 2015 MKZ in April. In June the brakes started squeaking, I initially contributed it to brake dust. In September I phoned the service dept and was informed by the desk clerk that she has a 2014 MKC and her brakes every time she backs out of her garage which, is one of the instances in which it was happening to me. She informed me there was nothing they could do about it because they have even replaced the brakes on other vehicles and it does the same thing.
I then wrote a letter to the President and after waiting for a response for 3 weeks, he basically told me there was nothing that they could or would do about it. I then received a call from their Cust Service liaison who informed me that this wasn't a concern because it was intermittent. The President used "occasional" I informed them both it was EVERYDAY and at any given point when backing. He stated the President told him they had looked and the car and couldn't find anything wrong. I told him I bet he didn't since I hadn't taken the car in. Nor, was it suggested that I bring it in. I asked them who wanted to pay the costly amount and have the brakes squeak, he (the customer service rep) informed me that all brakes squeak and that he has never owned a car that didn't. I informed him this wasn't my first new car and I can tell you the brakes didn't SQUEAK. Then he told me that he had spoken to Hiliary (the Service Dept mgr) and she told him that the brakes squeak on her vehicle. I said, is she the one that drives the MKC and he said "I believe she drives a MKX. I said SO your aware that the MKC, MKX and the MKZ is having this issue? He said it wasn't a issue.
I asked (the President) why they were not informing potential buyers of this and his reply was on page 183 of the manual it states there could be occasional grinding. I said but you would have to have PURCHASED the vehicle in order to have a manual. Needless to say, they have done nothing. I didn't take the car in because I know what they are going to say. They can't find anything. Why should I waste my time in doing that!!! I am extremely upset and disappointed In Landmark Lincoln.
