The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled inadvertently. The contact was unable to veer to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several minutes; however, the failure recurred every 2 miles. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the fuel rail pressure sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted while the contact was driving back to the residence. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who informed the contact that the second fuel rail pressure sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that she noticed a strong fuel odor while starting the vehicle, and there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed that there was coolant intrusion into cylinder #4, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,884.

The contact owns a 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH and accelerating from a stop at a traffic signal the vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic. The contact placed the vehicle in park(P) and attempted to restart the vehicle. The contact stated that several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. The contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact only owned the vehicle for 30 days. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V621000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.
