I have been complaining since I got this car that the gas mileage was no where near the advertised mileage. I have heard excuse after excuse from various service people at the dealership...first I asked after 1,000 miles but was told I had to wait to reach 3,000 miles before I would get the mileage advertised. At 3,000 miles, my mileage was worse...so I was told 3000 miles wasn't enough...I had to wait 5,000 miles. At 5,000 miles I was in again and told that I can't rely on the dashboard mileage counter because it was so inaccurate. I was told by yet another service person to fill the tank to the brim and then divide the mileage driven by the gallons replaced. When I did this I sound that they were right. The dashboard mileage counter WAS inaccurate...but the actual mileage wasn't better, it actually was lower. When I told yet another service person this, this time the manager, I was told that I should never fill the tank all the way, that it hurts mileage. I asked him if filling the tank would make the mileage go from the advertised mileage of 40MPG to 33MPG. He had no answer. Obviously I was mislead yet again. This time he had me wait 4 hours for a computer update which he said might resolve the problem. It didn't. I am now getting around 29 to 31 MPG. I have contacted this service manager 3 times over the last 3 months without a response. Finally a message to the manager of the dealership was met with a response that she could not help me. Only the service manager can help me but now he is out for a few weeks and I have to wait for him to come back to talk to me. Incredible! Over a year of trying to get this resolved and all I get is a runaround from the dealership. And now to top things off, today I received a letter from Lincoln to get an updated GPS disk for ONLY $150!! The thing was 2 years outdated when I got the car!!! I went to the airport and the roads that have been there since 2012 still weren't on the system!. My advice is to stay clear of the Lincoln MKZ hybrid if you want to actually receive the mileage promised. Funny, before I got the car I asked the salesman, the finance guy and the manager if the mileage promised was real. I asked this because the last 5 Lincolns I got (none of them hybrids) all underperformed by about 25% in promised mileage. All three assured me that ever since Ford/Lincoln were fined for phoney mileage ratings, they are now accurate readings. FALSE! Also stay clear of the dealership - Germain Lincoln in Naples, Florida. Who handles fraudulent mileage claims by auto companies and dealerships? I would like to lodge a complaint with them, including my 2 page letter to the dealership manager that "couldn't handle" my problem.
