The contact owns a 1996 Lincoln Mark viii. The contact received a recall notice for the vehicle speed control: Cruise control in August of 2007. He was informed that the parts for the recall repair were unavailable. The contact had to wait nine months for the parts. The dealer stated that the parts would not be available until March of 2008. There had been no failure to date. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 102,321.

Consumer has found that her vehicle has the same or similar switch that has been reported to cause fires in some Ford vehicles.
