The contact owns a 2000 Lincoln Navigator. The contact stated that the engine compartment ignited in flames without warning. The fire department was contacted and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The cause of the fire was unknown to the contact. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 157,000.

The contact owns a 2000 Lincoln Navigator. Four hours after being driven, the vehicle began to smoke and caught fire. The fire was so bad that the hood blew off. The tires and everything in the vehicle were melted. The fire department extinguished the fire and a firefighter stated that there was a Ford recall regarding this failure. He further stated that the fire appeared to have originated in the engine compartment. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The contact has photos and a videotape of the fire. The recall number was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 97,000.

Vibration was coming from front end of vehicle. Dealer was contacted, and technician replaced engine twice/ fuel injection /engine coil sparks plugs / flywheel and torque converter. Vehicle still has problems.
