smoke from engine compartment

I was driving this Friday Jan. 3 , 2017 and noticed smoke coming out into my dash hood / inside cabin and was on the highway… had to pull over and then opened the car hood and noticed the smoke was on the top side of engine… to back. I called my local garage and took it in for service and was informed that the issue was the “Intake manifold” the service tech informed me… there is a command leaking coolant issues with these models…its related to a plastic intake manifold it usually crumbling apart where the thermostat sits. It’s in plastic and for me does make it smart for FORD Lincoln to have made it that way! Not sure if there is a recall? It Is dangerous to drive when on the highway with smoke and could cause fire. I have car in for repair and hopefully it doesn’t cost me much?
