The contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr. The contact stated that the driver's side door handle failed to open without warning. The contact had to open the door from the exterior in order to exit the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the entire door handle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that the failure recurred several other times after the repair. The vehicle was not taken back to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
