Basically My Fuel Mileage For My 1989 Mazda B2000 Sucks. I know its only a 4 banger and the truck weighs a good bit for a 2.2 liter engine. But still it has a 14 gallon tank. I get around 10-12 miles per gallon and that's not even romping on the gas that's driving like a damn grandpa. I've tried doing everything i possibly can to correct this problem. Ive used fuel additives a variety of different cleaners / Octane boosters. Tried using 81 - 93 fuel grades the lower the grade the worse mileage i get so i don't really know what the problem is. Its a great truck i love it other than the gas mileage its a very sturdy not the best riding but that's due to old shocks that need replaced. If i don't get this fuel problem fixed im going to either sell the truck and get something else its sad when bigger trucks with v6s and even v8s are getting better fuel mileage that what i am... So ya this really pisses me off if anyone can help with this id appreciate it... I've done about everything i can think of to make me get better gas mileage... I've put new plugs wires rotor distributor fuel filter air filter all sorts of adjustments to the carb choke and the timing as well.. I pretty much give up i keep hearing the same answers of things I've already tried that dont work. The truck only has 135k miles for a 1989 i think that's pretty good.
