CX-30 Premium AWD 2.5L Dohc 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Noticed a chirp in the transmission at 40,000 miles. At first thought it was tires. Brought the car in three times to have the dealer check it out and the first two times was told it was fine. At 50,000 miles the transmission failure was so bad that the car was lunging and hunting for gears and it was becoming unsafe to drive (a week after I had brought it to the dealer the second time and told that it was fine and this was just the way the car was).

On the third visit the dealer confirmed that the transmission was failing. I also got a notification on my My Mazda app that there was a problem with the AWD system so it finally got to where it was throwing codes. The car was in the shop for 5 months awaiting a new transmission but it was finally fixed at no cost under the powertrain warranty. I was told I could continue driving the car while awaiting the transmission but I did not want to risk a complete failure while driving or going out of the 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty.
