CX-5 Touring

  • Automatic transmission
  • 23,000 miles

Excessive brake wear. At 23,000 miles needs complete brake job. I typically get in excess of 50,000 miles and as much as 70,000 on brakes. My friend has 60,000 on his CRV and brakes are still good. Another has a Rav4 with 55,000 and still going. This is a common problem with Mazda as I have a friend whose daughter also has a CX5 and experienced the same problem.

CX-5 GS 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 26,408 miles

Very cheap brakes on CX-5, and my guess is they put same brakes they probably use on their small sedans. Bottom line, all rotors and pads have to be replaced at 42500km. That is just unacceptable, overall not super happy with CX5. We had other issues as well, looks like $40k, but after a year or so feels like $20k. Spend a bit more and get a better suv.
