I take decent care of my car. I get it serviced regularly. I drive like a grandma. The car only has 34,000 miles so I was shocked to learn that what I thought was a simple oil leak turned out to be a cracked cylinder head that will cost me about half of what the car is worth to fix.
I have since learned that the issue is a known problem but Mazda has not issued a recall or extended the warranty period for non-turbo engines. They have issued an extended service warranty program for turbo engines.
I am taking the car to the Mazda dealership where I bought it hoping that they can get approval from corporate to cover the cost of repairs. Otherwise this will be the last Mazda I own.
