Compressor went out as we were about to sell it. Add it to the list of problems with this model year. Unbelievable.

Just another confirmation that these AC compressors do have a problem. ours did make noise prior to failure. Our mechanic thought adding oil would be worth a try but that did not quiet it down, it failed a few weeks later by locking up. I understand lock up is common failure mode and you will hear belt squeal. When this happens turn AC off until you get the AC fixed or of course it will fail the serpentine belt and you are on the side of the road.

I really didn't need this expense right before the holidays. The car was well taken care of and didn't even have 60,000 miles on it. Of course there was no warranty left to cover this.

Being that I had to pay $700 to replace the AC Compressor just 10 months prior to this, one would think that the AC would work longer than 3 months. Compressor was replaced in November of 2012. AC wasn't used until June of 2013. AC stopped working in August of 2013. So aggravated!!!!

I was without my vehicle for two weeks because of this repair! I found out after purchasing the car that this is a common problem with the CX7's
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER MAZDA

A sound at the moment of starting the vehicle, then after a few miles the compressor, smoke and finally an invoice of 800 dollars with generic spare parts.
