Placed 12 cases of bottle water in rear compartment behind rear seats caused the rear seat latches to break. Each case is 35 pints (17L). No accident or injury occurred, but the potential for harm is likely. We had been driving around with the kids in the back seat for a few days before we noticed that the seats weren't locked and not working. If weight alone was enough to malfunction the locks, what could happen if there are items in the back during a collision?
