Bought my CX-7 brand new, in fact the first new vehicle I ever bought. At approximately 75,000 mile I had my first fuel injector fail. After my mechanic opened the engine he informed me he had never seen a engine more gunked up with carbon build up. He had to meticulously chisel off the build up and clean the valves before replacing the injector and informed me that all of the other injectors would likely have the same problem.
Sure enough, within a few months two other injectors failed. To make matters worse the engine developed a loud ticking sound from the belt tensioner likely due to the engine running so poorly from the injector problems.
I no longer own this vehicle and recommend car buyers to steer away from Mazda CX-7's unless visiting auto repair shops is a hobby!!!
