Driving vehicle less than 5 mph, in line, after picking up kid from school. All side curtain air bags exploded/deployed, for no reason. Vehicle was not hit. Other drivers heard and witnessed the explosion/deployment of the airbags. Pulled car to side as best as possible, as the airbag curtains completely blocked the side windows.

The weight sensor for the front seat is defective. My son is 105 lbs. He has just started sitting on the front seat. I notice that the "air bag off" light keeps going on and off while the car is in motion. According to the manual, the weight limit is 66 lbs above which the passenger airbag should be active. Manual states the weight on page 2-45 and also on other pages.

Takata recall - I was informed of a recall on the passenger side front airbag in July 2016 and instructed "until this repair is performed, do not allow passengers to ride in the front passenger seat." This has been an extraordinary inconvenience not to mention I don't feel safe driving the vehicle with my 3 year old toddler in the backseat. In just over a week, it will be 4 months since this notification was made. I live in houston, Texas, with high humidity with a 2010 vehicle - this makes the vehicle more susceptible to this failure. Given the local climate, why hasn't my vehicle been prioritized so that my airbag was addressed in a timely manner? disappointed.
