CX-9 Grand Touring

While trying to select a gear from "park" to drive, gear shifter would lock up and not move. This would happen when car was running after a 'stop' for errand drop off. Shutting car completely off, restarting engine, would not always resolve it.

Got stranded while running errands. Called service center. "Gee, that is really unusual. We aren't sure why that happened."

After a couple days of trouble shooting, the technician determined that the GEAR SHIFT SELECTOR MODULE was broken. His quote- "I'm not sure how you were able to even drive this at all, or how this even happened."

required a complete replacement of the gear shifter and the control module below. They had to order the part, which of course took a long time to receive. Once again, single mom stranded without a vehicle.

This was my second "YOU MIGHT BE DRIVING A LEMON" incident with this same vehicle.

Update from Jul 27, 2017: My car currently has only 47,000 miles, not 65,000. This occurred in January when it only had 36,000 miles on it.
