Since the car was over 4 years old, wasn't surprised that I probably needed an new battery. Jumped, bought a new battery, installed. Battery charge light came on and off intermittently. Took it to Mazda dealership where purchased. Maybe a failing alternator. Couldn't be sure. Can't be sure? Three weeks passed, no light then it comes on and wont shut off. To our local mechanic. Hooked up to reader and guess what? Alternator isn't charging. Seriously? At less than 36k miles? Mazda Corporate denies claim, out of warranty by time, not miles. And don't have enough "points" for them to consider covering cost. I guess I'm not loyal enough after having to cover two pricey repairs (see other review) on a car that has less than 40k miles. RUN from Mazda. Don't walk.
