My Bose stereo is a mere three years and nine months old. One day I just opened my car door and heard this awful machine gun/jack hammer sound. I didn't know what was going on. It continued, hurt my ears horribly, and I took it to Mazda where they declared the Bose stereo had an internal failure. Because my warranty was three years, they told me it would cost $1,050 for a new stereo and another $125 to install.
I called Mazda USA. They told me because of my "high" miles, they would not consider replacing it and I was on my own. To which I replied that a stereo failure has nothing to do with high miles. For heaven's sake, my husband drives a 1999 Lexus and its stereo is beautiful at 200k.
Really tacky on Mazda's part. I love my Mazda otherwise, but because of this I will NOT be buying another one, which I had been planning to do. I'm disgusted.
