This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Mazda dealer.
Within the first month of having the car my phone charger got stuck to the outlet. There was no way to remove it. I took it into the dealership to have it replaced. Little did I know a month later I would have the same problem with the other outlet. I knew I should of had both replaced the first time. I was also told that they were " having a lot of complaints" with the outlets.

I relied pretty heavily on my car charger. After discovering that I couldn't remove it one day, I called by phone, then brought it to a Mazda dealership. At the dealership I was informed that this is a problem Mazda was aware of and would have been covered under warranty, had my car still been under warranty! I brought it in about 10,000 miles too late.
I had two options, pay for a mechanic to replace the outlet (~$120 for time and materials) or purchase a replacement outlet for less than $10 from the dealership (they had the part on hand) and see if I could wrench the damn thing out and replace it by myself.
In my frustration before bringing it to the dealership I had already come a part of the way in loosening the thing out of the socket. The mechanic at the dealership was kind enough to point out what I should be careful of and explain what I was risking if I couldn't complete the task by myself. I took that risk and a screwdriver and went to town. Took about 10 minutes at the dealership but I got the old outlet out (with my charger still in it) pulled it apart from the outside to recover the charger, and I was on my way and charging my phone again within about half an hour.
Certainly annoying. Certainly sucks that I was out of warranty. Very satisfied with the fix.
