I'm actually the new owner of this car, so I'm unsure of when the problem did happen. The original owners told me there was a recall on the vehicle for the dash issue, and so I thought, I'll just take it in. However, I've just called the dealership and was told my vehicle has no recalls at all. Overall, this car that only had one owner prior to me, is in great shape and has been well kept, but this dash separation just looks UGLY!! And now what, if there's recall, what do I do? How much is a fix? Is there a fix? This is totally Mazdas issue, I feel, but that changes nothing!!!

I didn't know I wasn't alone! I discovered on line that this was problem for a whole host of Mazda 3 owners with this model. The general consensus was that nobody could repair the problem on their own, due to the clips were badly designed and could no longer hold the dash together. No one that I have found, had claimed that they have successfully corrected the problem. I don't think that this is something that owners should have to live with.

Was driving home from work and it had rained quite a bit prior. Heard a popping noise... then a crack and pop, looked over and my dashboard was separating and expanding right before my eyes as the separation moved across the dash!!!! This is my 3rd Mazda that I have owned and NEVER have I EVER seen such a thing happen - even to the oldest one that I had in 1980! It even snapped off a piece of the clear plastic lens material as it went down the dashboard in the front! I would say that Mazda needs to pay for this one!!!!

Not much to say here. Mileage and year this occurred is estimated. I know It's been separated for quite some time. Feel like I may be able to press it down and glue it back but it's not much of a problem.
