problem #2

MAZDA3 IGT 2L Skyactive

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

While driving at approx 70mph, car suddenly lost acceleration and multiple dashboard lights came on. Car was driven off interstate at approx 40mph in emergency lane. Shut off ignition a few times, restarted, issue did not go away.

Car towed to dealer and following items "installed" by mechanic; 2 oil pressure switches, bolt, two 0 rings, plug, gasket, RTY silicone, and AFT. Paperwork also states the PCM was re-calibrated per MSP38, Mazda bulletin 01-024/12.

Car ran fine until approx 2 months later. Added sep complaint for that issue.

MAZDA3 IGT 2L Skyactive

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,000 miles

While driving at approx 45mph, car suddenly lost acceleration, mult dashboard lights came on, and car lost power steering. Car towed to dealer.

Dealer ran diagnostics and had to defer to Mazda USA for resolution. Dealer called me and stated they were told by Mazda USA to replace ABS system. I was told this was not under warranty and would cost slightly more than 1K. Was also advised that battery wasn't holding adequate voltage and that is to be replaced as well.

I complained a bit about having to spend so much on a relatively new car. I also requested they email me the error codes they sent to Mazda USA. About ten minutes later, the dealer called me back and advised the ABS System would be replaced for free.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, I am appreciative of their offer but something doesn't seem right here. But I had almost the same exact issue six months ago and see multiple similar issues on various message boards.

I have also opened a ticket with Mazda USA and requested details of diagnostics/repairs from them. Hate to say it, but I'm almost regretting purchasing this car.
