I drove the Mazda 3 about 800 miles over the holidays. I noticed the tires were making excessive road noise. I returned home and had the car checked at the dealer. Alignment on left rear tire was out. I have had the tires rotated and balanced every five thousand miles and check the pressures once a week keeping them at the recommended pressure. Dealer had it on the lift at the time of alignment and all 4 tires on the inside edge were cupping. Service advisor said it was common with sedan and worse with hatch back ( I have a sedan) I like the 40 MPG but feel like i'm driving a dump truck on a day to day basis. I can't understand tire wear on a new car with 15000 miles.. Dealer said I might get 25000 from set of tires?? Really 600 bucks every 25000 for tires. Zoom Zoom? Not really impressed. Rather disappointed. I just wanted to know if there are any other owners having the same problem. I read there are aftermarket parts to fix it. But while its under warranty not much can be done. Sad to spend 20 k on a precision car with crappy tire wear due to design.

I have recently purchased my first Mazda 3 and very disappointment at the tyre road noise coming into the cabin especially on the rougher road suffices.
The forums online indicate that this appears to be a common complaint and i was inquiring of your feedback on how to reduce the noise without going through the expense to pull out the carpets/seats to install sound deadening material or changing tyres.
The tyres are the factory Bridgestone 195 65 15inch that I believe are factory .
