The HVAC system in the cabin does not properly regulate the cabin temperature and the vent outlet temperature is too hot to bear. With the HVAC set on "auto" the cabin temp set at 68F and an outside temp of 62F, the vents blow 130F air into the driver's and passenger's space, either face, feet, windshield, whatever is open. The HVAC does not subtlety control the vent air output temp. It blasts all hot or all cold. It does not regulate, even when the temperature difference between the outside is only slightly cooler than cabin set point.

I use it like a 1950s heater. All hot or all cool. I sometimes need to use the window to allow cool air in. It seems to me that the control system is out of whack. I reported the problem to the service rep at the Gladstone Mazda and he claimed, WITHOUT EXAMINING THE PROBLEM, that it was a proper behavior for the heating/cooling system. No. I have other vehicles that control the cabin temperature within 6 degrees differential without cooking my face.

I took this vehicle to service 5 recalls. Yup, 5. As well as 2 other problems. No recalls were serviced there, nor was any other work was done.
