After sitting for two days in the hot Florida sun, the automatic exterior light system malfunctioned for several minutes until the car cooled down on the inside.

Auto Light System Malfunction Warning display in the notification area of dash. This warning showed up twice on a hot day 37-42 centigrade when the car are parked behind direct sunlight, both alerts came when just ignited the car, and disappeared after a few minutes by itself. When alert is displayed, the auto lights are inoperable, headlights are on and dashboard are dimmed. This only occurred on hot days or when the car is few hours parked front of the sun

So sedan is still brand new. Under 1 month at 100 miles. Workplace has no park cover so the vehicle is under direct harsh sunlight during the summer months. Vegas heat can be unbearable and when I returned to my vehicle after a 10 hour work day, turned the ignition on and the dashboard lite up with a warning “Auto Light System Malfunction†and it advised to manually the lights off and on, but wouldn’t let me. Lights were too low for me to see what was on the dash board. Took it to Cardinale Mazda and they haven’t a clue what I was talking about until I showed them the picture I took of the issue.
